sigma control basic
Hello,
Does anybody have a connection diagram for Sigma control basic ? It is a PLC used for Kaeser compressors.

Alarm 201,221,33
After 2+ days of Mazak tech support patiently stepping me through tracing many paths & checks, the determination was made that the problem was in the I/O board and so I was put in contact with Mitsubishi.
After reconnecting the I/O board cable connectors for the umpteenth time while doing a check from Mitsubishi, the machine powered up fully with no alarms. Apparently the I/O board connect or one of the cable connectors is iffy.
I would like to find the cause exactly, but we're behind in production after being down for 3+ days and I need to run with it.

Welcome to the group Andrew...we are glad you could join us. You may want to post your question out in the forum under the proper category. Not many people look in this section of the forum (“introduce yourself” section) to help with MT issues.

Cnc turning distance rings-washers
Hello and good luck with solving your problem.
Try writing a program where you have a little angle undercut at the end of the bore where it meets the cutoff.
Then use a cutoff tool that has a slight angle on the bottom so the cutoff leaves the material on the next piece.
No matter how you do it, you will still have to deburr.
If you need to learn better programming, look at the examples on my website: www.doccnc.com
Heinz.

Alarms 280, 501, -10c
I checked the transister modules FUJI #2DI200-050 and one of them from C2E1 to E2 checks closed both directions of +/- , the other two modules only go +/- one direction as indicated by the drawing on the side. I think this one is bad. I ordered one to find out. I'll check back if this works.

Jack Jack,
When you say "from Z HOME to top of part", do you set all tools every time you change to a different job, or do you take the New top surface when setting subsequent tools to those already set on other Workpieces?
There is a possibility that the Macro B program won't accept the Logical Operands in the Conditional Statements. There's a parameter to circumvent this, but I'll have to track that one down. I can show you a simple work around in the mean time, but lets wait until after you test the program before crossing that bridge.
I'll find the Tool Measure program sometime today and send it to you. Send me your email address via PM.

Yasnac Tool Packages
I have a 30 pot ATC but more than 30 tools in my standard tool list. My idea is this:
current state
T24 is currently a 5/16 tap
program #1 uses T24 (5/16 tap)
program #2 uses T24 (3/8 tap) - oops. possible crash!
future state
T24 is currently a 5/16 tap
program #1 uses T24 (5/16 tap)
program #2 uses T124 (3/8 tap) - alarm "tool number not valid!"
when the operator wants to use T124 he manually changes T24 to T124 by doing... <need help>
This is, for example, easily achieved using group numbers on a Mazak. Is there a way, without having to allow parameter change then updating Pm#'s, that this can be achieved?

Simplify CNC Programming.
One of my goals in teaching CNC programming in person or as part of my teaching DVDs, has always been to explain and teach it as simple as possible.
I just saw a quote from someone that is a lot smarter than most of us put together, I really love it.
I am talking about Albert Einstein and here is what he said:
"If you can't explain it simpler, you don't understand it well enough".
Please keep that in mind if you teach someone.

Thanks IndyGreg, I will keep that in mind but over on our side of the world we tend to give things a go ourselves first, usually we are in a hurry, plus shipping to the US and back is very expensive. It is good to know who does these things. Thanks Russel
