I have developed a tapering problem that I can't seem to track down. I am relatively new to any programming which will be obvious. I have some parts that have a cavity with a lead-in taper (9 degree). I have been doing these for some time but all of a sudden the bottom head is rolling around and gouging the cavity as it exits the contour to the start point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know the variables for the current position of the X, Y, and Z axis. I know that I had them written down years ago, but have misplaced the information. I also cannot find it in any of the control info. I am moderately certain it was a control variable from A-B and not a PAL variable.
Thanks in advance for any help

When I attempt to decompile one particular ladder (PMC-SB7) I am receiving an error message from the Fanuc Ladder III S/W that states, "J:E-3100: There is an undefined instruction (SUB 0)"
Decompile failed
Obviously (?), there is no SUB 0 instrunction in this model PMC (or any other that I am aware of).
Unfortunately, I don't have access to the machine to view the ladder, otherwise I could search it for some funtion. But I don't think it would be possible to search for SUB 0, since it doesn't exist (theoretically, at least).
Has anyone ever experienced this?

Hi All,
I have a custom macro program that calls a cutter compensation, D#4107. The machine tool builder wrote the program initially and I need to modify it. I'm pretty good at writing programs but for the life of me I cannot find this offset value in any screens. I do not have a manual for this controller but do have one for a O-MC. Can anyone help me find this value?
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
Our company makes tables that have square AND radiused corners on the same piece.. and we are getting wavy lines on flat parts, and flat parts on our radiused corners. I've worked with the G08 P1, turning it off and on, ACC/DEC, and simply slowing everything down.
It seems that rounded corners work well with ACC/DEC, slowing down to about 150 IPM for the corners, and 600 IPM on straitaways, but since they say it's not good to use ACC/DEC AND HSHP, I don't know what to do in the case of a square part, that is nested with a rounded part. The HSHP works great for squared off parts, but not for small radius corners.
I would use G61, but it stops at EVERY radius, and I only want it to stop at sharp corners.. not contoured areas. Is there a way to do this? Does G09 do that and/or is it configureable so that it only stops if the corner is 'X' degrees sharp?
Thank you.

I am machining a M65 internal thread , using a dia 40mm threading bar with a 120 mm overhang and the material is EN24 . I am experiencing vibration from the first cut. The machine is brand new and the program looks like this ,
G97S220T0505M3
G0X50.0Z30.0M8
G76P000060Q100R0.05
G76X64.0Z-97.0P3000Q440F6.0
G0X300.0Z300.0T0
M30
I know chattering is difficult to solve , but I have been battling with this particular problem a while and need some assistance.
The control on this machine is a Fanuc 0i TC.
I am not sure if there is a cycle available to alternate the cuts between the two flanks of the thread.
I do not believe this is a programming problem , more a application problem because I have exhausted all the easy avenues , like change speed up and down , smaller first cut , bigger first cut , small finishing allowance , big allowance , negative flank on cutting edge .
Please any suggestions

Hi
Can any one tell me procedure for retract tapping,
I was enabling<G62.6> from ladder in mdi mode, so M29 is called RGTAP signal is enabled but it is waiting for spindle to be enabled (i.e making G70.4/G70.5) on, then it is retracting perfectly.
Now i am making this bit <G70.4/G70.5> to enable with G62.6 but it is really needed to do so, wont the controller calls it internally these bits when G62.6 is given,
can any one tell me about this,
Thanks in advance.

Is there anyone who can help us to convert it into English language?
I guess it is possible for this control, but the only thing is that we dont know what parameter# needed to be change to have this language convertion.
Please do help me..

Guys,
I do an software in PLC of an vertical center that has an FANUC 18IMB. These software do the torque control of an tool. To activate i use M400 and to deactivate i use M401. Before an G01 in the program i use another M code to specify the torque that i need control, for example, 4% of the loading spindle motor, so i program M304. When the tool is machining, the tool use 2% of loading. With the time, the tool will be consume, and the torque will increase. When the torque that the tool need to machining for equal the torque that i use (M304), the machine will stop all axis and turn off the spindle. I do these to prevent an broken tool, or to said to the operator to change the tool. So, these is the infomations to these software works. I would like to know if these is usual to work, or in these way, if itīs very complicated to work. I need informations or what you think about.
Thanks for attention. If any one wnats that, itīs possible i send by e-mail.

Has anyone an example of using the standard ladder-logic format of a low-end PLC to create a state-logic sequence.
Someone years ago showed me a simple arrangement that accomplished that end.
I've forgotten it and am having trouble in recreating it.
I want the function of a sequencer, not available in the PLC I have to use, with the clean sequencing of state-logic.
Also, it would be nice to be able to troubleshoot each step of the sequence.
Thanks for any help or leads.

Anyone used this software? Anyone out there with experience/knowledge of this software?
It's used to program Liefeld metal spinning lathes "off line" and is also an interface between the machine and an ordinary PC. Apparently the language is Leifeld's own but based on G-codes.
Anyone know different?

Hi there, I just managed to do my first ladder modification on a Fanuc 16 PMC, using the fapt Ladeer iii software. I used sdram cards to copy and save the new file, despite there's a way to do it online according to the software specs, connecting the laptop to the PMC via the serial port. So here comes my first question: does anyone know how to connect the fapt ladder software to the pmc? secondly, how can I import and change the system file, where the alarms and description address table is stored, is there another software available to edit such files?
thanks a lot

Dear Sir,
We have a CNC Lathe SBCNC 55 of HMT make, India.
The manufacturing supervisor complaint is that when ever they clamp a component in the machine, carry out some operation and stop the machine for a shift or so , a run out is developed in the component , the chuck is holding.
I want to confirm that is it normal to hold the job on the lathe, carry out some turning operation and leave the machien for a shift or so by stopping the machine. The chuck is hydraucally clamped.
I need to know the solution.

hello,
we are new to hmc's, we bought a used niigata with 6 m controller, we would like to know how work offset values are to be assigned.
normally in a vmc x and y values are obtained by truing/dialling the fixture or master job and assigning z values based on the height of the job.
We tried the same procedure but the table seems to go else where when we run the program.we were told that we need to know the dimensions from X0, Y0 AND Z0 to the centre of the table which in our casethis dim is not available to us. We only have the stroke of each axis.
any suggestions

I am trying to find the variable number for the tool which is active in the machine spindle, the Fanuc book lists #4120, but this does not relate to a Hitachi-Seiki machine. For the Mori-Seiki, it stores the last called tool, which could be the next tool in the program, where, when initiating the tool length offset with H#4111, the offset for the waiting tool is paired with the tool in spindle.
Original program on a FMS Cell: -
G65T1065P9999 (T1065 Main Group#, T65 Main Tool)
M45
H145/1H65 (Back-up Tool/Main Tool)
M46
I would like to replace the H145/1H65 with the active spindle tool variable number.
Thanks,

Newbie to the group here..Hello all, nice forum. I need some possible examples of a macro to pick "part zero" and "skew" (coordinate rotation) when I use a spindle camera* for very small features. (handwheel to center of two holes) I'll be picking up 2, 35ĩm holes about 2.54in apart. One being my X,Y origin and the other defining the angle I must rotate the coordinate sytem to.(The product is known to be different every cycle) I would like this to set my G54 work shift X,Y and the "R" value for angle. (I believe the control wants G65 R__). Then its machining as usual. Any ideas in those brilliant minds here?
Basically I think it is just computing the angle after the adjacent and opposite are known?
Thanks in advance
*I have a Titan scope that mounts in the spindle and I've adapted a CCD camera and monitor so the operator can see the tiny features in a larger scale. Works well http://www.titantoolsupply.com/

I am cutting an OD on a piece of stock about 6inches long and about 1.5 diameter. The problem I am having is I can't make a straight smooth cut. There seems to be an occasional step. I've tried many different inserts and speeds and feeds still have problem

Lynx 200 Daewoo,FANUC 21i with gantry loader.
The machine side of control orientats with M19 and S word.
Now when its runing the gantry side of the control the M19 works but not the S word.
So I am looking for any ideas on how to change the spindle home postion as one option or any other options that i can use to get these odd
parts in and out of the 2 jaw chuck.
thanks
