TOOL PRESETTER CALIBRATION PROCEDURE CONTROL, TOOL PROBE CALIBRATION ON LATHE M65 and others

  1. CALL UP OD TOOL W/O OFFSET (MDI MODE, TYPE G0TXX00: ENTER,CYC STRT)
  2. PUT PRESETTER IN MACHINE & PRESS PSM BUTTON , THEN TOUCH OFF TOOL AS USUAL. (NOTE THE GEOMETRY X VALUE ON PAPER).
  3. TAKE A FINISH CUT ON A PART. DIAL OFF IN Z AXIS ONLY… (NOTE MACHINE POSITION FOR X AXIS ON PAPER)
  4. CALCULATE DIFFERENCE IN VALUES FROM STEP 2 AND STEP 3.
  5. MEASURE SKIN CUT DIAMETER ON PART. (THIS VALUE SHOULD BE THE SAME AS VALUE FOUND IN STEP 4 WITHIN +/-.0002). IF NOT THEN PROCEED WITH STEP 6.
  6. CONVERT DIFFERENCE FOUND IN STEP 5 TTO METRIC (STEP 5 VALUE x 25.4 = METRIC VALUE), DIVIDE THAT ANSWER BY 2 & WRITE DOWN ON PAPER.
  7. PRESS ‘SYSTEM’ HARDKEY.
  8. PRESS ‘SETUP’ SOFTKEY
  9. PRESS ‘Y’ THEN PRESS INPUT
  10. PRESS ‘AXIS’ SOFTKEY
  11. PRESS PAGEDOWN KEY
  12. YOU SHOULD NOW SEE THE PARAMETERS 201x ETC. (NOTE THE CURRENT VALUE IN PARM #2016 X(VALUE)
  13. VERIFY THAT CURSOR IS IN THE LEFTMOST PARENTHESIS #( .) , IF NOT USE CURSOR LEFT/RIGHT KEYS TO POSITION IT THERE.
  14. KEY IN 2016, MOVE CURSOR RIGHT OR PRESS INPUT.
  15. IF PART IS BIG, ADD VALUE FROM STEP 6 TO CURRENT VALUE IN #2016 (REF. STEP 7f.)
  16. IF PART IS SMALL, SUBTRACT VALUE IN STEP 6 FROM CURRENT VALUE IN #2016 (REF. STEP 7f.)
  17. SET VALUE IN #2015 TO BE 15.000 LARGER THAN VALUE IN #2106
  18. REPEAT STEPS 1 THRU 5 TO VERIFY CORRECT VALUES.
